Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. These words warm my heart! To keep ones liberty one must enter into a never ending fight to protect those very liberties. John Philpot Curran said in his speech upon the Right of Election in 1790, "It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt".
As people of a free nation we have a duty and responsibility to do something! We can’t sit idle and expect someone to fix it. One might think," I don’t know where to start, I don’t know what direction to go". Can you talk to your neighbor, can you study the constitution, can you read the federalist papers? Learn and teach!!! Gain a following and bring them before your local government. Remind the elected officials that they swore by oath or affirmation that they would uphold the constitution of the United States of America and protect it against all enemies foreign and domestic. Promise the officials that you will make it your life’s mission to get them out of office if they do not represent the Constitution and our Bill of Rights .
The Constitution is for both sides of the isle and the rights where given by God and revealed by man. Both sides need to understand the if we separate we will loose all our rights. The union of the states is what created the government of the union or in other words the Federal government. Don't forget that each state still has it sovereignty and the true power lies within the states. Building strong local governments will build strong state governments. Thomas Jefferson wrote," We in America do not have government by the majority...We have government by the majority who participate... All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.
Please open you mouth and break the silence. I believe it is time for the true American's to rise up and let their voices be heard. Give me liberty or give me death! Vigilance to the end my American Brother’s and Sister’s!
